A product that’s made to your precise requirements is valuable.
It makes your job easier and boosts your business’ productivity.
At Tank Fab, we take pride in building custom ASME tanks that fit your specific needs. Our multi-step process for building our tanks – from sketch to finish – is unique to your specs.
Specialized tanks increase customer production while keeping overall costs low.
That’s why we believe in clear, collaborative communication to create your custom tank.
Let’s look at the steps involved in creating your custom ASME tank.
1. Tank design
One thing that makes Tankfab unique is that we manufacture custom ASME tanks to the Division 1 Code, using only carbon steel or 304 stainless steel.
Our specialization is only building tanks that meet a minimum diameter of 48” and a maximum diameter of 144”.
To begin, we utilize Codeware’s “COMPRESS” software to design the initial framework for your tank.
This particular piece of software automatically verifies that the tank meets the ASME and National Board Code requirements – leaving no room for mistakes.
After the custom ASME tank has been designed, it’s imported into our 3D modeling software where it is finalized for construction.
2. Tank construction
Tank construction then begins in our 80,000 square foot manufacturing space.
Each step in the manufacturing process is reviewed and inspected in accordance with our quality-control system.
This includes multiple inspection points to ensure that the tank meets not only the Code requirements, but your custom requirements for the tank as well.
Each Code-required inspection point is reviewed by our design team and an outside third-party inspection service.
3. Tank testing
Custom ASME tanks are passed through a grueling testing phase that is specific to each client’s demands.
All ASME tanks are hydro-tested; however, additional non-destructive testing can be performed depending on your needs.
Additional tests include liquid penetrant, magnetic particle, ultrasonic, and x-ray testing.
Custom ASME tank repair
We treat our repair services much like our manufacturing ones – with care that’s tailored to each client’s needs.
Accredited by the National Board of Pressure Vessel Inspectors, we can service your ASME code tank at our facility or at your site.
Taking code to another level
When it comes to creating your custom ASME tank, you’re the boss.
We follow your specifications – from design through testing – so that you have an end product that makes your work easier and your business more profitable.
Would you like your business to be more profitable via a custom ASME tank?
